There is no Greek table without a Greek salad, known in Greece as horiatiki, the "village salad". It is simple, refreshing and made with few ingredients, which have to be the very best.

The ingredients make the difference

A real Greek salad has no lettuce and no complicated dressing. It needs ripe tomatoes, crunchy cucumber, onion, pepper, olives, capers, a slab of feta on top, oregano and plenty of extra virgin olive oil. The juices left at the bottom of the plate are for dipping your bread.

The Greek salad at Alysso

At Alysso we make it the classic way: tomato, cucumber, onion, peppers, capers, olives, feta, oregano and extra virgin olive oil. It goes with everything, from moussaka and lamb chops to grilled seafood.

What to pair it with

For a light lunch, a Greek salad with our homemade pie and stuffed vine leaves is plenty. For dinner, it is the perfect side for a grilled main course.

You will find us in Psyrri, at Navarchou Apostoli 11, a few minutes from Monastiraki, every day from 1 pm to midnight. See our full menu.
